Subsurface Vault System

Underground infrastructure engineered for telecommunications equipment with mechanical access, environmental protection, and modular design. Built for long-term reliability in mission-critical deployments.

No Electrical Power. No Confined Space Entry. No Compromises.

When surface-level infrastructure isn't feasible, our subsurface vault provides a comprehensive solution for protecting telecommunications equipment below ground while preserving above-ground aesthetics.

The fully mechanical extraction system operates without electrical power—meaning equipment can be accessed even before power is delivered to the site or during power outages. No one ever needs to enter the vault.

All equipment is mounted on a central cartridge that can be pre-installed and tested at a third-party facility off-site, then dropped into place during installation. This eliminates confined space concerns, accelerates deployment, and enables rapid equipment swaps without specialized crews.

With hot-dipped galvanized steel construction, integrated water management, and optional climate control, the vault system is built for decades of service in the harshest underground environments.

Core Features

Safe, Accessible, and Power-Independent

Zero electrical power required. Zero confined space entry. Complete equipment access from street level—even before power is delivered to the site or during outages.

No Electrical Power Required

Fully mechanical extraction works before power delivery or during outages - equipment accessible anytime

No Confined Space Entry

Personnel never enter the vault - all installation and maintenance performed from street level

Off-Site Pre-Installation

Cartridge can be equipped and tested at third-party facilities, then dropped in place

Climate Control

Isolated exhaust and intake ventilation with fan-assisted airflow protects equipment

Water Management

Drywell system with sump pump for comprehensive water mitigation in all conditions

Tool-Free Operation

Mechanical column extraction requires no special tools or electrical connection

Secure System

Single point of access with mechanical secure locking prevents unauthorized entry

Flush with Grade

Completely concealed when closed - no visual impact on streetscape aesthetics

See It In Action

No Power. No Entry. Complete Access.

Watch the fully mechanical extraction system operate without any electrical power. The cartridge rises from street level—no one ever enters the vault.

This works even before power is delivered to the site or during power failures. All equipment installation and removal happens from the surface.

Mechanical extraction operates independently of electrical power—accessible before energization or during outages

Installation Workflow

Pre-Install Equipment Off-Site, Drop in Place

The interchangeable cartridge design enables complete equipment integration at third-party facilities before field installation.

1

Equip & Test Off-Site

Mount all telecommunications equipment on the cartridge at a third-party facility. Run full integration testing and QA in a controlled environment.

2

Transport to Site

Deliver the fully-equipped cartridge to the installation site. The sealed cabinet protects equipment during transport and staging.

3

Drop & Connect

Lower the cartridge into the vault casing from street level. Connect utilities and close—no personnel ever enter the vault structure.

Benefits of Off-Site Integration

Faster deployment: Field crews only handle mechanical installation
Better QA: Equipment tested in controlled facilities before shipping
Rapid swaps: Replace entire cartridge in minutes for upgrades or repairs
Zero confined space: All work performed from street level

System Components

Modular Design

Five integrated components work together to create a flexible, future-proof subsurface infrastructure system.

  • Excavation protection with void space management
  • Receiving pockets for multiple configurations
  • Geotechnical engineering considerations integrated
Cartridge component diagram

Cartridge

The heart of the system: a sealed, interchangeable cabinet that can be fully equipped and tested at third-party facilities off-site, then dropped into place. All equipment installation and removal happens from street level—no one ever enters the vault.

  • Pre-install equipment at third-party facilities
  • Drop in place from street level
  • Swap entire cartridge in minutes for upgrades
  • Sealed cabinet protects equipment during transport

Lid

Swivel design with 180° swing mechanism providing full access while maintaining flush-with-grade appearance when closed.

  • 180° swivel mechanism
  • Mechanical secure locking
  • Drip edge prevents water intrusion
  • Flush with grade when closed
Cable Track component diagram

Cable Track

Organized coax and power cable management system ensuring proper routing and protection for all utility connections.

  • Organized coax routing
  • Power cable separation
  • Protected pathways
  • Scalable for multiple carriers
Column component diagram

Column

Fully mechanical rising column operates without electrical power—even before power is delivered to the site or during outages. Extracts the entire cartridge from street level, eliminating all confined space entry requirements.

  • No electrical power required—ever
  • Works before site energization or during outages
  • Tool-free mechanical extraction from street level
  • Zero confined space entry for installation or maintenance

Water Management

Multi-layer protection keeps equipment dry in all conditions. The integrated drywell catches water between cartridge and casing, managing infiltration through soil permeation. A sump pump in the cartridge provides additional mitigation for extreme conditions.

  • Drywell catches water between cartridge & casing
  • Water management through soil permeation
  • Sump pump in cartridge for water mitigation
  • Lid drip edge prevents water return
  • Site preparation optimized for drainage

Climate Control

Thermal management protects sensitive electronics from temperature extremes. Isolated exhaust and intake ventilation prevents heat recirculation, while strategic vent placement optimizes airflow for maximum efficiency.

  • Isolated exhaust and intake ventilation
  • Strategic vents allow heat out & fresh air in
  • Fan-assisted airflow for active cooling
  • AC system/heat pump available for extreme environments
  • Thermal break between intake and exhaust
