The Story

Park City's Historic Main Street blends 19th-century mining town architecture with world-class ski resort amenities. During ski season, the population swells from 8,000 to over 40,000, creating extreme network demands that traditional infrastructure couldn't meet without visual intrusion.

The Challenge

Deploy multi-carrier infrastructure along the narrow historic corridor while maintaining the authentic mining town aesthetic that drives Park City's tourism economy. The solution needed to serve massive seasonal population fluctuations without visible equipment that would detract from the carefully preserved streetscape.

Our Approach

Hybrid approach combining subsurface vaulting with Victorian-style street furniture, allowing three major carriers to share infrastructure. Equipment vaults were placed beneath sidewalks, while above-ground elements were integrated into period-appropriate lamp posts, reducing visual impact by 60% compared to separate single-carrier deployments.

Outcomes

  • Multi-tenant infrastructure with capacity for three carriers simultaneously
  • 98% reduction in visible street furniture vs single tenant
  • Network capacity scaled for 5x seasonal population increase
  • Historic Main Street aesthetic fully preserved
